Synthesis and microstructure of silica-doped alumina composite membrane by sol-gel process

Abstract

Silica doped alumina membranes were prepared by the sol-gel method for gas separation application. The Al2O3 sol and the SiO2 sol were mixed in a molar ratio of 5 to 15 mol% per alumina. The microstructure change of the membranes was examined as a function of heat treatment temperature.
