Supporting system for automatic prefabrication of bar-meshes

Abstract

A `Bar-Mesh Prefabrication' method is suggested to resolve the labor shortage and cost increase problems. The prefabricated meshes reduce bar tying operations at the job site, and consequently save time and money. This paper presents a supporting system that interacts with AutoCAD and AUREMSYS (AUtomated REinforcing Bar Module Design SYStem). The system provides bar-mesh data for automatic bar-mesh design and manufacturing, and supplies graphic bar-mesh data to field. This paper discusses about OOM (Object Oriented Modeling) and data processing with AutoCAD, and provides overview of the supporting system.
