Photoluminescence analysis of white-light-emitting Si nanoparticles using effective mass approximation method

Abstract

White-light-emitting Si nanoparticles were prepared from the sodium suicide (NaSi) precursor. The photoluminescence of colloidal Si nanoparticles has been fitted by effective mass approximation (EMA). We analyzed the correlation between experimental photoluminescence and simulated fitting curves. Both the mean diameter and the size dispersion of the white-light-emitting Si nanoparticles were estimated.
