Effects of compatibilizer on the physical properties of PP/EPDM blend systems

Abstract

The effect of compatibilizer on the physical properties of PP/EPDM blend is investigated. Introducing a newly designed compatibilizer, (PP-g-MA)-nylon 66-(MA-g-EPDM), improved the low temperature impact property of the blend. In addition, the wide angle X-ray diffractograms measured in the region of 2 θ between 10° and 50° indicated that an incorporation of the compatibilizer gave rise to a new peak at 2 θ = 15.8° ascribed to the (300) plane spacings of the newly developed β-hexagonal crystal structure.
