Definition of digital printing type cloth pattern drawing for mass customizing

Abstract

With its technical development, digital printing is being introduced in earnest for mass production at many clothing factories. Applying the convenience of prior editing of digital printing, textile design is being used to make the design reflecting the clothing pattern by printing itself. This is not limited to the simple pattern design of the existing textile designers, and the design has to be made by predicting the aesthetic impression of the entire design of clothing after composing and producing clothing. Currently there are 2 types of designing digital printing textile reflecting structure of clothing pattern divided mainly by usage type. One is doing the printing in square on the area of clothing pattern and cutting later to fit the clothing pattern. The other is the structure of production type by auto recognition laser cutting machine which was developed by demand with the upgrading of digital printing. In the second production method, laser cutting is possible by recognition cutting without a file for separate pattern cutting as printing is done in the design process containing textile design in the pattern-shaped silhouette. This paper defines the latter “Pattern + Textile design convergence design” as a standard to be used universally in the industry. The usage tool is Adobe AI, and the existing industrial pattern signs for clothing composition will be basic reference materials. Design U platform will be applied for loaded platform. The ground for the definition of the clothing pattern for digital printing will be the functions currently provided by Design U platform. The items to be marked mainly include fold mark, wrinkle mark, outline mark, seam mark and alteration mark.
