Analysis of the power plane resonance using the alternating-direction implicit (ADI) FDTD method

In this paper, the unconditionally stable alternating-direction implicit (ADI) FDTD method is applied for analyzing the power plane resonance of the multi-layered PCB. To reduce the resonance, a decoupling capacitor is considered and we have implemented the effect of loading a decoupling capacitor. It is confirmed that the ADI-FDTD is an accurate and efficient method for analyzing the EMI/EMC problem for the multi-layered PCB by comparing with the conventional FDTD.
